The 2x4 Challenge

Each spring, members of the Pacific Woodworkers Guild put their ingenuity, creativity and skill to the test in response to the following challenge:

What can you make from a single 2x4, 8 feet in length?

The answer might surprise you.

Entrants, based-upon their skill level, are classified into one of three skill levels: novice, intermediate and expert. Each entry begins from a single 8 foot 2x4, any species. Additional materials are permitted, depending upon the category of the entry, as described in the rules. Interested in participating, the Challenge is open to all members of the Pacific Woodworkers Guild or a member of another amateur woodworking club within the Province of British Columbia or the State of Washington.

The Pacific Woodworkers Guild has been running the 2x4 Challenge for over twelve years.
